La Bercia is located in La Villa, in the heart of Alta Badia. The village lies at 1,400 m above sea level, where Alpine meadows give way to dense woodland. From here larches and pines climb the mountainside until the treeline recedes into open, rocky mountainside and the distinctive, jutting peaks of the Dolomites. This unique landscape is the birthplace of Ladin culture and traditions. Somewhere that never ceases to amaze even those of us who were born here.

Hiking in Alta Badia – rhododendrons in bloom

Hiking boots, backpack, water bottle. You’re all set for the day. Maybe you’ve been eyeing up a particular peak. Or perhaps you’re planning a gentle bike ride around the village. Either way, in Alta Badia there are trails and routes for every ability. Head up the mountain among the pines and rhododendrons, or stay down in the valley amidst the meadows and allotments.

On foot: easy walks, forest trails, ridge traverses. By bike: cycle paths, single tracks, epic mountain passes. In a harness: via ferratas, rock climbing, mountaineering routes. From June to September, there are countless outdoor activities to choose from, for all levels. But there’s more to Alta Badia than meets the eye, including museums, traditions and local festivals. Skiing in Alta Badia – endless slopes

With 130 km of pistes, Alta Badia is one of the most modern, scenic ski areas in the Dolomites. Away from the slopes, there’s plenty of other ways to explore, from cross-country skiing and sledging to snowshoeing and ski touring along forest trails. And there are some cultural treats in store too.
